Rainbow Village Marks 12 Years as Subaru of Gwinnett’s Hometown Charity

As a non-profit organization, Rainbow Village relies heavily on the generosity of its donors. Less than 10% of its funding comes from local government resources. That means 90% of its funding is privately secured through grants from foundations and monetary contributions from individual donors, churches, and corporations. To continue to pursue its mission of Bringing Help, Hope, Housing, and Healing to Families Experiencing Homelessness, Rainbow Village endeavors to build lasting relationships throughout the Metro Atlanta community. One of those lasting relationships spans 12 years, as Subaru of Gwinnett has once again named Rainbow Village its Hometown Charity during the Duluth-based car dealer’s 2025 Share the Love® Event, which runs now through January 2, 2026.

“Rainbow Village’s mission to break the cycle of homelessness resonates deeply with our values, and we are honored to support their programs year-round,” said Jennifer Kessler, General Manager of Subaru of Gwinnett. “Through Subaru’s Share the Love® Event, our customers can elect to bless Rainbow Village with a portion of the proceeds from their purchase of a new car or maintenance of their existing vehicle. Our partnership extends beyond the dozen years they’ve been our Hometown Charity and beyond our Share the Love Event. Through Subaru Loves to Help, we provide essential resources, including brand-new coats, shoes, and socks for children, ensuring they are warm, confident, and cared for as they take steps toward stability. We also sponsor family-focused events on the Rainbow Village campus, such as the Summer Bash and Holiday Shoppe. We are dedicated to helping Rainbow Village continue to provide hope, housing, and holistic support for those who need it most. Together, we work toward a stronger, more compassionate community—one family at a time.”

During the 2024 Share the Love® Event, Subaru of Gwinnett raised $51,475 to benefit Rainbow Village. This year, they’re looking to surpass that number. Over the last 18 years, since the Subaru Share the Love® Event’s inception, Subaru and its participating retailers have donated nearly $320 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national charities and over 2,700 Hometown Charities. The national charities include the ASPCA® to protect, rescue, and care for vulnerable animals nationwide; Make-A-Wish® to grant life-changing wishes for children fighting critical illnesses; Meals on Wheels America to deliver nutritious meals, provide much-needed human connection, and foster independence for seniors and people with disabilities; and the National Park Foundation to inspire people to connect with and protect America’s more than 400 national parks.

“We are beyond grateful for Jennifer and her team at Subaru of Gwinnett,” said Melanie Conner, CEO of Rainbow Village. “Caring for the community is foundational to the culture there. I love how they engage meaningfully with the families we serve whenever they’re on campus for an event. And they act as ambassadors for our organization each holiday season during the Share the Love Event, introducing car buyers and maintenance customers who’ve never heard of us before to Rainbow Village and our mission. We value Subaru of Gwinnett’s dedication to our organization every bit as much as we value their impactful donations each year. We are also thankful for their customers who choose Rainbow Village to benefit from their purchase. Every donation makes a difference for the families we serve.”

For new-car customers who select Rainbow Village to benefit from a portion of the proceeds from their purchase during the Share the Love Event, Subaru of Gwinnett will donate $350 to its Hometown Charity. For customers who bring their vehicle to the Subaru of Gwinnett Service Department during the Share the Love Event, the dealer will donate $5 to Rainbow Village.
