The objective of the Rainbow Village program is to facilitate changes in behavior in the families that seek our assistance. A fundamental component of achieving this goal is to help the adult heads-of-household identify learned behaviors that contributed to their homelessness, while providing an environment, opportunities and resources that allow them to replace those limiting behaviors with more adaptive ones.
Adult Life Skills classes fall into five general categories:
Classes are facilitated by community volunteers with expertise in subject areas. To master the important information in the five core areas, residents are required to attend all classes (two evenings a week during the school year and one evening a week during the summer), averaging 80 classes per year.
