Rainbow Village Heading Down Back Nine to 2024 Second Chance Golf Classic

Nonprofit Organization Devoted to Ending Homelessness – One Family at a Time – Issues Last Call for Sponsors of One of its Largest Fundraisers of the Year

As it prepares for one of its most impactful annual fundraisers, the nonprofit with a mission to bring help, hope, housing, and healing to families experiencing homelessness has issued an invitation for local businesses and organizations to join the cause. The 2024 Rainbow Village Second Chance Golf Classic will take place on April 15 at TPC Sugarloaf, with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. The majority of the golfers that will take the 18-hole championship course that day will be representatives from many of the businesses and organizations that have signed on as sponsors. A number of sponsorship packages remain available – several offering foursomes in the charity tournament that raised an astounding $190,777 last year.

The course of life is a major challenge for families with children who find themselves in unsafe environments with no place to turn, no one to turn to, and no place to call home. Proceeds from The Second Chance Golf Classic go directly to Rainbow Village, which transforms the lives of families experiencing homelessness by providing transitional housing and programs aimed to move them from crisis toward self-sufficiency and stable housing. In golf terms, Rainbow Village provides them with a mulligan: a chance to have another shot at a self-sustaining life.

“We have already been blessed with the addition of several wonderful companies to this year’s Golf Classic, including our Presenting Sponsor, Northside Hospital, and Gold Sponsors, AXIS Companies, Lamborghini Atlanta, Columbia Engineering, and a memorial sponsorship to honor the late Pete Lorentzen and Bob Walsh,” said Melanie Conner, CEO of Rainbow Village. “More companies and organizations are being added virtually every day. Most of them are returning sponsors, which really speaks to how very special this event is. In addition to the opportunity to provide a ‘mulligan’ to the families Rainbow Village serves, I can’t begin to describe the powerful blend of love and hope that is present from the driving range out on every hole and back at the clubhouse for the awards presentation. Whether you’ve sponsored our Second Chance Golf Classic or haven’t in the past, we invite you to take part in this year’s event and experience the magic firsthand.”

Anyone can support Rainbow Village’s efforts, regardless of whether they’re on the links on April 15 or not. New to the event this year, Rainbow Village is adding an opportunity to participate in the Tee Off in Monterey Raffle. Each $100 raffle ticket provides the purchaser with a chance to win airplane tickets for two, a three-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Monterey with golf course view, a round of golf for two with cart at the Links at Spanish Bay, and a round of golf for two with cart at Del Monte Golf Course.
