The Women’s Giving Circle is a diverse, dynamic and generous group of women engaged in an exciting venture of strategic philanthropy. It leverages the resources of individuals for greater impact by pooling members’ dollars and using the money to award microgrants to families of Rainbow Village.
For many donors, giving appreciated stocks and other non-cash assets may offer additional tax benefits over a cash gift. Possible advantages include: you can potentially avoid capital gains tax, you receive a charitable tax deduction for the full fair market value, retaining your cash assets and receive a break on your taxes. If you are least 70 ½ years of age, instead of depositing the required minimum distribution (RMD) from your individual retirement account into your bank account, you can have it sent to Rainbow Village. This qualified charitable distribution will count toward your RMD and will not be included in your adjusted gross income.
