Michael Corkum Accountant
Michael Corkum received a Bachelors of Commerce Degree in 1967 from Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia, after which he joined the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. He would perform a variety of functions, including: branch management, credit inspection, and auditing. As auditor, he was responsible for examination of the accounting records for branches in Toronto, New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Pittsbugh.
He retired from the Bank of Commerce, after 37 years with the firm, in September 2004 and began volunteering with Rainbow Village immediately thereafter. In February of 2005, he joined the staff as accountant. He is responsible for Rainbow Village’s financial management and reporting, acts as an advisor to the CEO, and interfaces with the Board Treasurer and independent auditors with respect to all financial records.
