Rainbow Village Donor Privacy Policy

Rainbow Village values each of our donors and takes their privacy very seriously. To that end, we maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning our donors’ contact and financial information. All online donor transactions with Rainbow Village are covered by this policy and are conducted over secure portals. Access to this data is password-protected and limited to authorized Rainbow Village employees.

What we collect:

Rainbow Village collects the following personal information from our donors: donor name, acknowledgement name, amount donated, address, telephone number, and email address.  Company name and addresses are also collected for corporate, organizational, and foundation gifts.

How we use that information:

Donor information is used for internal purposes only. Rainbow Village does not sell or lease donor information. Donor information will only be used by Rainbow Village staff to:

  • Distribute receipts for donations
  • Thank donors for their contribution
  • Inform donors about current and upcoming activities of the Foundation, including additional opportunities to support the Foundation
  • Track and analyze donor data
  • Comply with current rules and regulations governing 501(c)(3) financial reporting
  • Comply with any reporting requirements related to specific grants or contributions
  • Contact donors regarding any changes to this privacy policy.

Financial information:

All access to donor financial information is strictly limited to highly-trained, professional staff who process our financial transactions. No such data is shared with any other person, organization or group.

Rainbow Village only uses online payment processing services with world class security and strong reputations. Rainbow Village does not store, nor does it have access to, your credit card information or other account data sent through those processing services.

The Donor Bill of Rights:

1.    To be informed of Rainbow Village’s mission, the way Rainbow Village intends to use donated resources, and our capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.

2.    To be informed of the identity of those serving on Rainbow Village Board of Directors and to expect the Board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

3.    To have access to Rainbow Village’s most recent financial statements.

4.    To be assured gifts will be used by Rainbow Village for the purposes for which they were given.

5.    To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition of all contributions to Rainbow Village.

6.    To be given the opportunity to give a gift anonymously.

7.    To be assured that information about donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

8.    To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.

9.    To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
