Miracles Happening Every Day

Posted on by Rainbow Village

To see her laughing at Big Recess or playing out on the playground at After-School, you would have never know how troubled 9 year old Jordan really was. At such a young age she was facing some big obstacles that stretched well beyond the trauma of her family’s homelessness. She was a special needs student that struggled in school. Every day was a real challenge. From the first day they arrived at Rainbow Village case workers knew Jordan was going to need extra love and support. With the help of counselors, doctors, tutors, her family and the many Rainbow Village volunteers that encouraged and believed in Jordan when she didn’t believe in herself, Jordan learned to manage her condition and really shine. Jordan’s family graduated from Rainbow Village in 2009 but they still keep in close touch. Jordan, now a 6th grader in middle school, has earned a spot on the A/B Honor Roll and recently made history in her school. She was the first 6th grader to ever win her school spelling bee! Jordan is a shining example of the wonderful miracles we witness real-time here at Rainbow Village.
